“Unbroken”

The Southie crew at the GG, minus a few peeps

We had 22 athletes, many of whom were first time competitors, representing CFS at the Garage Games at CFNE this weekend.  We are so proud of each and every one of you for putting yourself on the line for everyone to see.  The heart and class shown by Southie CrossFitters demonstrates what an unbelivable community we have growing here in South Boston. Great perfromance all around, including the Goose Fathers 3rd place finish!

Strength
Push-jerk
2-2-2-2-2

WOD
“Unbroken”
3 rounds
20 Double Unders
20 Swings (1.5,1)
20 Wallballs(20,14)

L2/L1 – 50 singles
ADV- ( 2, 1.5)

This wod is to be done unbroken.  You may not move on until you get 20 dubs in a row.  If you put down or stop swinging the kettlebell before you hit 20 you must start the set over.  If you drop the wallball, try again.  The WOD is still for time, but the unbrokeness spices it up a little bit.

So impressed with everyone who competed this past weekend! It sounds like it was an amazing time, I am sad that I had to miss out! Hearing from all the new competitors about their experience has made me less nervous to compete!! I can’t wait to get back to the box.
Jamie, that WOD looks great, I want to give it a shot!

I wanted to chime in and also say thank you to everyone who came out to support the competitors and another thanks to all of the southie judges/volunteers. It was both an exceptionally humbling and amazing experience. Everyone pushed themselves to the absolute limit and it was awesome to experience.

Personally, I still have a lot of work to do but this competition will hopefully be the first of many.

    Thanks again everyone!

I’m so proud to be a part of this community. It was beyond helpful to have been supported by Southie this weekend. I’d still be finishing up “The Lark” if it weren’t for y’all! Thanks to all the burnt toasties that took time out of their weekends to volunteer, judge, and just show love for those competing. I can’t wait to celebrate this weekend!

Ranjith. You can get those PVC pipes at home depot. I think its 1 1/4 inch PVC pipe, its $2.97 I think for one and theyll cut it in half for you

I wanted to say a special congrats to all the first time competitors this weekend. Its a huge step to go from woding in the comfort of your box to doing it in front of hundreds of people and for 5 events in 2 days! All of you Southie first timers impressed the hell out of me and it was great to be a part of seeing it happen. I think i had more fun cheering you guys/gals on more than I did competing myself. Hopefully more will take the leap next time!

    Great job, Southie competitors.

The push jerk is mad complicated. I need to practice at home with a PVC. BTW, where can I buy a PVC pipe like the ones we use at CrossFit Southie?

    115×2 on the push press.

Unbroken is a great WOD. I need to learn to get through all the WODs unbroken. And I really need to figure out this double under thing.

7:11–50 singles, 1 pood swing, 14 lb wallball
