I grew up in upstate NY in the heart of the Adirondack mountains. “Forced family fun” consisted of regular hiking and camping trips which sparked my love of the outdoors and of pushing my physical limits. I was also an avid ballet dancer from the age of 2 until I moved to MA in 2003 when I was 20.
After college I spent 13 years as a veterinary technician in the ICU at a big emergency hospital. I met my future husband Chris through a co-worker in 2004 and we got married in 2011. My husband and I became parents to a daughter Rosalie in 2012, and son Zachary in 2015. In 2018, after spending a few years solely focused on raising my kiddos, I decided to do something for myself which meant diving headfirst back into a more physically active lifestyle. In the summer of that year I decided to try a CrossFit class and was instantly hooked! I became a “regular” at the early morning classes at my gym and after 2 years as an athlete I got the opportunity to get certified as a coach! I was excited to take my CrossFit journey to the next level and to be able to share my obsession with others. CrossFit to me is an intense sense of community and mutual support for each other. These things combined are what has made the gym feel like a second home. I began coaching at my CrossFit gym in Feb 2021 and I haven’t looked back!
In my free time I enjoy running road races and going on trail runs with friends. I completed my first half marathon in 2021 and I have another planned for 2022. I have also completed a few Spartan races and tough mudders and I take every opportunity to hit the indoor rock climbing gym or the local obstacle course gym.
My family and I live in Carver on a small farm where we care for goats, chickens, ducks, and bunnies, as well as a couple of cats and dogs. I am a volunteer foster with the Scituate Animal Shelter, and Mainely Rat Rescue, and I recently started a doggie hospice out of our home for elderly or terminally ill homeless dogs.
