The Harris going away party is on for Friday night (July 5th)! Our destination is Marina Bay in Quincy. We have a limo bus to transport us from CrossFit Southie to Marina Bay. To ride on the bus it is $20.00/person. To reserve your spot bring $20.00 cash to the front desk and make sure your name gets added to the list. Priority will go to those who responded online last week to the post. It is going to be super fun, don’t miss out!

    Obviously a deceiving weight…I strict press 165. Consensus between us 7pm folk was work on the form of the push jerk. Felt weak though.

    Wanted to slack and do less weight as a way to save myself for the hellish WOD tomorrow, Lumberjack. Didn’t happen. RX’d it.

    Shout out to Allen, Anthony,his nephew Sammy.

    Allen finished all his reps with everyone cheering him on. Great job bro.

    Anthony – hopefully see you more often. 7pm crew is recruiting fellow beasts. Sammy way to kill it man.

    Wow Nicole/JBo, sounds like you both had an awesome time.

    NICELY TEXTURED 7pm class tonight, regular crew plus some brand new faces that I got to meet, positive attitudes all around.

    WOD: 17:19 Rx
    155# is a good 30# under my PR, and it felt HEAAAAVY tonight, would definitely have been some failing if we kept going.
    The ONLY THING that got me through that wod was Mike and Jose AGGRESSIVELY
    pushing Manny and I to finish. If those dudes pushed us any harder they’d have been doing the reps for us.

      Thanks Jason! I’m sure it would’ve been a different story if I had done the Rx reps/weight. But after L2 swiftly kicked my ass last night, no way was I gonna attempt Rx tonight!
      Yeah, I’m totally with you on the push jerk weight feeling crazy HEAVY tonight! I was similarly 20lbs below my PR. Maybe the plates have become waterlogged with all of this humidity and sweat? : )

    WOD: 14 something (65) 25-10

    The first few sets of push jerks were closer to push presses. A little 1:1 coaching on the last couple sets helped a lot. I was able to get understand what it meant to get under the bar.

    WOD: Toxic combo indeed. I was smoked after the 25.

    Thanks to the 6 pm coaches and crew. And the the 7pm crew who helped me bang out those last 10 burpees.

    THANK YOU Kate!!! That lady made me push hard at the end, cheering me on to get the task finished in under 15:00 even if it was 1 burpee at a time. Erin O joined in the sweatfest that was the 12:00 and killed it on the platform with me! In keeping my promise to hold myself accountable, banged out pull-ups with a red band and worked on a little mobility. Nicely done 12:00!

    OK something must be wrong with me because this supposedly “toxic combo” might just be my most favorite CrossFit couplet!

    Push Jerk: 145×3 – was totally NOT feeling it today on this. Definitely out of practice and need to put more time in on these.

    WOD: 9:23 L2 – definitely WAS feeling it on this one. BTW, what is the opposite of “goat salad”? Also, 5’6″ must be the perfect height for burpees and thrusters. I’ve loved burpees ever since Haley taught me to land with my legs far apart and Chuck taught me to snake my way up.
