Um… I don’t know what happened… I meant to post the comment above in the previous blog post but I somehow screwed it up and I’m not able to delete it. Grrr. Sorry!

I was also eating paleo before the challenge but, like for Amy, the challenge has motivated me to stop cheating so much. Like Alec, I’ve also been tinkering things a lot to see what works best. Oh, and I’ve also tried a whole bunch of new kinds of meat, which has been fun. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Joe,
GTG work is really awesome, but I’m not sure how much strength you could gain in the pushup between now and Saturday. I don’t want anyone to do so many pushups before Saturday for practice that their chests/tris/shoulders are burned out on Saturday. 10 reps here and there for practice doesn’t sound too bad though.

Long term though, GTG is a great way to work on a specific movement as long as you’re not doing so many reps you get overuse injury (I tried doing 350pushups a day a couple of years ago- I had a very sore elbow at the end of one month- too many reps!)

My sentiments exactly, Goose. If anyone is looking to try to improve their push-ups before Saturday, I’d suggest reading this article by Pavel. “Greasing the groove” is a really cool principle and it’s effective, too. I’ll be doing 10 push-ups every time I leave my desk this week.

Jaime, that extra CTB practice you did may still come in handy. This is only week 2 of the sectionals…
