Go Hard, Go Fast, or Go Home

TJ tagging me in!

A million thanks to everyone who came out to support us this weekend. Our community is notably strong, you guys are amazing. Chris ended up finishing in 14th. His hands were pretty destroyed after the 100s WOD on Saturday, which made for a struggle on Sunday’s workouts. The team finished 9th in Sunday’s first WOD “Amanda” which bumped us down to 3rd place, ย tying us for 3rd with CrossFit Fenway. The 3rd spot to LA was dependent on the last workout- “the chipper”. Fenway came through and beat us by 2 placings. It was a really close race, congratulations to CrossFit Fenway for their big win.

I ย couldn’t be more proud of the Southie team. All of the other teams that we were competing against have been open longer and have more experience competing. The fact that we held a second place position for day 1 and day 2 is something to be proud of in itself. We went in just looking to have fun and do our best….but even so, we were fierce. Next year we will prove ourselves to be unstoppable. Until then, TRAIN HARD.

WOD
5 Rounds
15 Thusters (95,65)
15 Toes to Bar
200m Sprint

Level 2 (75,55) Knees to Elbows
Level 1 (65,35)- 10 Knees to Elbows

I’m so proud of the whole CrossFit Southie community. The entire weekend I found myself walking by spectators, athletes, volunteers and judges that were speaking highly of Southie. This is no coincidence. CFS made a huge impact on other athletes, the crowd, and, most importantly, the community you represented so well this weekend.

Even more impressive than the performances of our team and individual athletes, was the way you all carried yourselves. Goose, Amy, Ali, Alec, TJ, Melissa, Maze, Pat, and Pete: you all put forth incredible efforts this weekend, exuding class all the while, regardless of the outcome. I’m not surprised, though, because, as the rest of CFS can attest to, we’ve all come to know you all not only as intense, fire-breathing hell-raisers, but as passionate, fun and caring people.

Amazing job guys! I followed the action on the regional Twitter feed and was on the edge of my seat all weekend. Wish I could have seen it in person! You should all be proud.
