Garage Games WOD #1 Released – “Hulk Salad”

“Hulk Salad”
8 minutes to establish max weight without removing hands from the bar:
2 Power Cleans
2 Front Squats
2 Shoulder to Overhead

Standards – Clips are required on the bar and the athlete must confirm their weight weight with the judge before each attempt.  The athletes hands may never leave the bar. The Power clean may be a split clean but may not be a full squat clean. Genie squats are not allowed. Make sure not to short the extension on the first Front Squat rep. Hip crease below the knee for each rep. You may not Squat Clean your first Front Squat Rep. You may not Thruster your first Shoulder to Overhead Rep and count it as a Front Squat and Overhead. If you Push Jerk or Split Jerk the weight you must stand up completely with your feet under you hips showing control until your judge gives you the okay.

    If you fail at a weight and still have time left, can you attempt that weight again? Take weight off the bar?

    When moving from the front squat to the StO, can you let go of the bar to readjust your grip? Also do the 6 lifts have to be consecutive or can you drop the bar (while holding it) part way through?

      Hey, sorry I just saw this. You can adjust your hands in the rack position, but we are not allowing genie squats where both hands are removed from the bar. That being said you cannot remove your hands completely in the rack position. As long as some piece of your finger tips are in tact you should be good. After the second power clean the bar cannot revisit the floor, even if your hands are on it.
