Haha Jamie – I was just looking in the mirror at my ridiculously bruised chest pondering how I will possibly be able to cover it up! I guess I’ll just rock it.

    Deadlift: 295#
WOD: 14:18 (L1) – I absolutely died during the WOD; there’s a lot of work to be done on anything overhead for me.

Leann – awesome!!! The only thing that is missing is you pounding out burpees faster than anyone to complete the image of our fun 5.30 am clan!

Berretta on the right with the corn cob pipe hating the KB swings, Jackie on the left beasting the “split cleans”, Liz doing Leann’s wallballs in a partner workout while she makes snow angels in the background. Amy and Chris warming up the hut for the 5:30 am’ers.

Jamie, this is a split jerk :http://media.crossfit.com/cf-video/cfj-nov-05/jerk.wmv

This is a push jerk: http://media.crossfit.com/cf-video/cfj-nov-05/push-jerk.wmv

The basic difference is the foot position for the landing. The split jerk should allow a higher max weight, so if you are going for max load jerk or clean and jerk, you should go for the split jerk. But for a metcon involving multiple jerks a split jerk will be slower than doing push jerks because you have to reset your feet for split jerk vs. having your feet already basically set for the next push jerk. Either way is fine to do for this WOD, but push jerks are faster, thus allowing more work to be done in less time which gives you more power output.

For both though you want to get the dip-drive-dip and explode the bar up while getting underneath it.

For this metcon today for example I started all the sets with push jerks but went to split jerks for the last couple of reps as I was fatiguing.

Whats the difference between a push jerk and the jerks we did last Wednesday?
