Introducing Sean – Our Newest Team Member & Massage Therapist

Hey Gang, we wanted to introduce you to our newest team member Sean Peters. Starting Monday the 21st, Sean will be performing massage on Mondays from 8-3, Wednesdays from 12-7 and some Saturdays. The first time rate for massage with Sean will be $60.  Schedule with him now using the schedule now button in the top right of the page and selecting his name under Natalie’s Schedulicity page.

Sean is an alumni from Berklee college of music with a focus in Trumpet Performance. As he was attending, he began to notice the consistent strain and overuse injuries that manifest from a musicians repetitive strain. He left Berklee to attend the Cortiva Institute of Boston. While he was there, he realized that he found music at the same time that he found bodywork. The very year when he started playing the trumpet, he broke his arm and began seeing a chiropractor that his family sees to this day. It was then he knew that it was meant to be a good career and life choice.

He gravitated toward neuromuscular, deep tissue, sports, myofascial and structural. Also, he has completed an orthopedic certification program to further his knowledge. Forever a student in finding balance, Sean approaches his massages as a way to achieve mental, physical, and emotion alacrity. Where there is imbalance, there is compensation; where there is compensation, there is habit. His goal is to work with his clients as a team to find these habits, and slowly work through them as well as getting the “kinks” out.

He is still a musician and frequently performs around the New England area.

Thank you so much to everyone who has volunteered to judge.  Many of you have inquired where to sign-up. You can sign up by clicking here. We do still need more judges! Our goal is to have enough judges to allow for breaks. All judges and volunteers will get a showdown t-shirt and lunch!!

WOD
“Barbara”
Five rounds, each for time of:
20 Pull-ups
30 Push-ups
40 Sit-ups
50 Squats
Rest precisely three minutes between each round. Record your time for each round.

Level 2- 4 Rounds
Level 1- 3 Rounds- 10,20,30,40

    I forgot to record my splits after it was all said and done, no worries though it was ugly. 46 something, 5 rds/red band for pull-ups/push-ups from the knees, ugh.

    WOD: 37:35 w/ red band for pull-ups. The push-ups were the hardest for me. Gotta keep building that upper body strength. Can’t wait to re-do this someday with unassisted pull-ups <3

    I expected the pull ups to be tough after the first couple of rounds…and they were. However it wasn’t the push ups that got tough for me, but rather the sit ups. I’m thinking maybe I effectively used the core in the push ups, but tired it out in advance of the sit ups? Great workout, though…LOTS of calories burned!

    And let’s just say that I should have heeded the warning about potential “burn” from the sit ups. Ouch.

      Kelly, you’re so HTK you don’t even know about it. Beretta called the 5:30am class “hard to kill” one morning a while back and since then it was adopted as a nickname.

    44:19. Officially the longest workout in CFS history for me. Splits were 5-something, 6-something, 7-something, 7-something, 5-something (last round I had a little extra push from the rest of the 530HTK crew since they finished a full round ahead of me)
    Got the first 20 butterflies unbroken – that’s a first for me.
